Generously hosted by MEININGER Hotels Berlin Tiergarten, almost 50 women gathered for an early start during the ITB conference, networking and enjoying a delicious breakfast before a long day of business meetings.  In attendance were women from the accommodation, transport, tourism services, sustainable tourism, and tours and activities sectors, with both current leaders and future leaders joining in. 

 Host MEININGER Hotels have a number of women in senior positions, and Director of Sales Doreen Kwast, Director of Marketing and Communications Anja Keplin, Director of Revenue and Distribution Steffi Breitsprecher, and Head of Commerce Malin Widmarc-Nilsson all took part in the breakfast, with Malin giving the following information about MEININGER’s journey toward female empowerment:

  • Success is not possible without our staff, many of whom have been with us for years - they form the soul of the company.

  • As of Feb 2019 head count: 49.64% of MEININGER employees are women, and 71.76% of these women work in management positions.

  • At MEININGER we promote diversity; indeed, it is one of MEININGER’s core values

  • MEININGER supports employees’ career development and helps them achieve their career aspirations through numerous initiatives like: leadership development program, training and development solutions, talent review and succession planning processes
